Chelsea holds a Master of Planning degree in Urban Design from the University of Calgary's Faculty of Environmental Design, and a Bachelor of Education degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta. With experience locally and internationally, in the public and private sectors of planning, as well as in the field of education, Chelsea is accustom to working across scales on projects that emphasis design and policy-based planning. Her diverse academic and professional background complements her interests in planning, environmental design, and community development.
Having completed her senior planning studio at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, Chelsea researched and developed spatial strategies to propose redevelopment concepts for the port suburb of Fishermans Bend. As part of an internship with the City of Melbourne’s Urban Design Group, she reviewed municipal planning policy and implementation strategies, as well as public engagement methodology for the Queen Victoria Market Area Redevelopment Plan. Locally, Chelsea has worked in the Land Use Planning & Policy and Environmental & Safety Management Departments at the City of Calgary where she supported planning policy development and bylaw compliance reviews, as well as developed and implemented community environmental initiatives.
At O2, Chelsea contributes to a variety of planning projects, with emphasis on land use planning, policy development, community design, and public engagement.
