Jennifer Barker

Reclamation Ecologist / Botanist

Jennifer Barker holds a Master of Science Degree in Botany and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Manitoba. Jennifer is a member of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA) and is a Professional Biologist with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB).

Jennifer has several years experience in environmental assessment, including reclamation planning, multi-disciplinary project management, botanical field surveys, and wetland ecology. She has been involved with Environmental Impact Assessments and large project applications in Alberta specializing in closure, conservation, and reclamation plans. Her expertise encompasses regulatory, engineering, design, and construction issues related to reclamation, revegetation, and restoration. Over the years, Jennifer has conducted applied ecological research related to reclamation planting prescriptions, vegetation management, wetlands monitoring, and park interpretation. At O2, Jennifer brings her focus on vegetation ecology and reclamation science to a wide range of planning projects.
