Michael Magnan

Environmental Designer

Michael holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Calgary, where he focused his design research on the interaction between socio-cultural environments and natural landscapes. As a recipient of the Waugh Scholarship in Architecture, Michael combined his academic interests in landscape architecture, placemaking, and urbanism with his personal passion for photography – experiencing and documenting exemplary works of public space throughout Europe and North America. Additionally, Michael holds a BES in conservation biology from the University of Alberta, which was supplemented with a long period of travel through remote regions of eastern and southern Africa.

Michael’s diverse professional background provides an array of experience and skills to O2, including expertise in project management, broad scale master planning, detailed design, and water conservation and reuse. His project work with O2 includes landscape design, sustainable irrigation solutions, project visualization, and communications.
