The Ducks Unlimited Interpretive Docks project involved the conceptual and detailed design and construction oversight of a number of interpretive structures, built within an existing constructed wetland in central Calgary. A major component of the design included four docks of varying sizes, to be used for educational and interpretive programs. The docks are designed to accommodate between 15 and 30 people, and to allow for access to the water for sampling and water testing. Also included are wood screens to allow visitors to observe birds and wildlife in the wetland up close.

O2 was responsible for the conceptual design and detailed design of the structures, working closely with a structural engineer to design the docks and wood screens. The project was challenging in terms of researching and implementing a support system for the docks that maintains the integrity of the existing wetland liner.
