Rundle Area Master Plan

Client City of Calgary
Location Calgary | Alberta | Canada

O2 was retained by the City of Calgary to develop a plan that supports the emerging conversation about how the areas around our Light Rail Transit stations in northeast Calgary will grow and evolve in the future. This Master Plan represents a starting point for strategic reinvestment and thoughtful redevelopment that will serve to transform the area into an attractive, vibrant and transit-oriented community.

The Master Plan provides a high-level framework to inspire future public investments and guide private development in the vicinity of Rundle Station (“the station”). In doing so, it charts a course for the emergence of the Rundle Station area (the “plan area”) as a thoughtfully designed, vibrant, mixed use urban neighbourhood.

O2 set out a long-term vision for how the area around the Rundle LRT Station should develop in the future. The objectives of the plan seek to make the area more connected, to better knit together the east and west sides of 36 Street NE, and to frame the LRT station with higher density residential and commercial development.
